Bases are substances that slippery to touch when in aqueous form. . Bases also dissociate in the water like acids, but instead of producing H+ they produce OH- i.e. hydroxyl ion. If a base dissolves in water then it is called an Alkali. Ammonium hydroxide, Calcium hydroxide are some examples of alkalis.
Salt can be found deposited in Earth's layers in rock salt deposits. These deposits formed when the water in the oceans that covered Earth many millions of years ago evaporated. The salt was then covered by various types of rocks.
