Given : x is the class mark of modal class y is the upper limit of the median class

To Find : value of (2x + y)

Solution:

                   f               cf

0-10               5                5

10-20            11               16

20-30           12               28

30-40            14               42

40-50            30              72

Modal Class is 40-50   as max frequency 14

class mark of Modal Class  x = 45

Median Class is  30-40   as    72/ 2 = 36  ( 28 < 36 ≤ 42  )

upper limit y = 40

2x + y = 2*45 + 40 =   130

2x + y  = 130
