Solution

Given :-

  • 3x + 2y = 16________(1)
  • 2x + 3y = 14________(2)

Find :-

  • Value of (x - y)

Explanation

First, Multiply by 2 in equ(1)

  • 6x + 4y = 32_______(3)

Now, multiply by 3 in equ(2)

  • 6x + 9y = 42________(4)

Subtract equ(3) & (4)

==> 4y - 9y = 32 - 42

==> -5y = -10

==> y = 10/5

==> y = 2

keep in equ(3)

==> 6x + 4×2 = 32

==> 6x = 32 -8

==> 6x = 24

==> x = 24/6

==> x = 4

Hence

  • Value of x be = 4.
  • Value of y be = 2.

Now, Calculate (x - y)

keep value of x & y.

= ( 4 - 2)

= 2.

Since

  • Value of ( x - y) = 2.
