The maximum weight is acting vertically downward, whereas tension acts above the strings.

Thus, tension is the only force which balances the weight.

Now, maximum tension is 100 N which the strings can take, thus, maximum weight that it can hang is 100 N.

If you want to find the mass, then Use the formula,

W = mg

∴ m = W/g

∴ m  ≈ 100/10 ≈ 10 kg.
