Since The central government under the confederation enjoyed limited powers on certain subjects and had no power to levy taxes and regulate commerce, issues that lead to the Constitutional Convention in 1787 for the creation of new federal laws.It addressed the issues of weak Union and thus paved the way for strong federal government.
