Answer: The value of  3f(1) - 4g(-2) and  f(3) - h(-2) is -25 and 10 respectively when f(x) = 3x – 2, g(x) = 5 – x, h(x) = -2x + 3x - 1.

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) = 3x – 2 g(x) = 5 – x h(x) = -2x + 3x - 1

1. 3f(1) - 4g(-2)

2. f(3) - h(-2)

1. In this question we have to find the value of 3f(1) - 4g(-2)
We will use function f(x) = 3x – 2 g(x) = 5 – x corresponding to the question
So, for finding the value of f(1) we will put x = 1 in
f(x) = 3x -2
f(1 ) = 3 x 1 - 2 = 1
Now, for finding the value of g(-2) we will put x = -2 in
g(x) = 5 – x
g(-2)= 5- (-2) =5+2= 7

Thus, 3f(1) - 4g(-2) = 3 x 1 - 4 x 7 =3 - 28 = -25

2. In this question we have to find the value of f(3) - h(-2)
We will use function f(x) = 3x – 2 , h(x) = -2x + 3x - 1 corresponding to the question

So, for finding the value of f(3) we will put x = 3 in

f(x) = 3x – 2
f(3) = 3 x 3 - 2 = 9 -2 =7

So, for finding the value of h(-2) we will put x = -2 in

h(x) = -2x + 3x - 1

h(-2) = -2 x (-2) + 3 (-2) -1 = 4-6-1 = 4 -7 = -3

Thus, f(3) - h(-2) = 7 - (-3) = 7+ 3 = 10

Hence, the value of  3f(1) - 4g(-2) and  f(3) - h(-2) is -25 and 10 respectively when f(x) = 3x – 2 g(x) = 5 – x  h(x) = -2x + 3x - 1.
