for the mid point theorem of a triangle, does the triangle have to be an equilateral triangle or can it be any type of triangle...???

According to geometry the with equal three sides is considered as equilateral triangle and if the line is perpendicularly drawn from the midpoint it divides triangle into two right angled triangle
