Answer:

3x² + 5x - 2 = 0

3x² - x + 6x - 2 = 0

x(3x - 1) + 2(3x - 1) = 0

x + 2 = 0

x = -2

3x - 1 = 0

x = 1/3

So the two solutions are -2 and 1/3 .

But not 3

Hence verified, x ≠ 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, a=3; b=5; c=-2

Using quadratic formula,

Hence x= (-b±√b²-4ac)/2a

= [-5±√(5)²-4(3)(-2)]/2(3)

=(-5±√25+24)/6

=(-5±√49)/6

x=(-5+√49)/6 OR x=(-5-√49)/6

x=(-5+7)/6 OR x=(-5-7)/6

x= 2/6 OR x= -12/6

x= 1/3 OR -2

We got x=1/3 and x=-2; not x=3

Hence proved.
