In a ratio a:b (a/b), a is called antecedent and b is called consequent.

Here, ratio of two numbers are given, 5:3.

antecedent,a=30

Let the consequent be b.

a/b = 5/3

30/b = 5/3

b = (30 × 3) / 5 = 90 / 5 = 18

Hence, consequent is 18.
