the compound which itself gets oxidised is an reducing agent/reductant.
here in the reaction PbO is reduced to Pb as oxygen is removed
                                H2 is oxidised to H2O as oxygen is added
 H2 is oxidised. So, H2 is a reducing agent
PbO is reduced .So, PbO is oxidising agent
