Given :-

Angle of refraction in medium A = 20°

Angle of refraction in medium B = 30°

Angle of refraction in medium C = 40°

To find :-

In which medium will be the velocity of light be maximum??

Proof :-

Velocity of light ∝ Angle of refraction

therefore, Since angle of incidence is maximum in medium C(40°) , so velocity of light is maximum in that medium.

Reason behind this :-

Since, the angle of refraction is the angle between the refracted ray and the medium.

When the angle of refraction is maximum, it means that the refracted ray bends the more from the medium.

Hence, when the deviation of refracted ray is more away from the medium, it refers to the velocity of light as maximum.
