For the same angle of incidence in media A,B,C, the angle of refraction are 20°,30°, and 40° respectively . In which medium will the velocity of light be maximum? Give reason in support of your answer​

Answer:

we know that light bends towards the normal in denser medium.

from given angles it is clear that mediumA is denser than mediumB and c.so speed of light is grater in medium with high angle of refraction I.e. mediumc.

From Snell’s law

n = sin i /sin r = c/v

Since c and sin i are constant therefore sin r is directly proportional to v

Therefore velocity of light is maximum in medium C.
