For the simultanious equations 5x – 2y = 7 and 2x + 3y = 18. find
the value of x + y

Answer:

5x-2y=7

5x=7+2y

x=7+2y/5

put this value in another eq.

2(7+2y/5) +3y=18

14+4y+15y=18×5

19y=90-14

19y=76

y=76/19

y=3

put y=3 in first eq.

5x-2(3)=7

5x=7+6

5x=13

x=13/5
