For this question, two statements are given- one labelled Assertion (A) and the other labeled Reason (R).   • When a force acts in the same direction of motion, then the speed of the object will increase as a result of this force. On the other hand, if a force is applied in the opposite direction from the direction of motion, then the speed will decrease.
  • Hence, the assertion is false.
  • However, a force does have an effect on the speed of a moving object and hence the reason is correct.
