I think the ace India golfer Ashoka Kumar possesses the following three qualities -

Ashok Kumar very frankly accepts the hard realities of life. He says that he started his career as an errand boy. He was born in a very poor family in Bihar that struggled for both ends meet. He came to Delhi with his elder brother in 1988 and started his work in Jaipur Polo Club. In the day time he helped his brother and slept in stable at night. When he was hired by the Jaipur Polo Club as a caddie, he began to practise in the club when he was all alone. But he was caught playing one day and he was suspended because caddies were not allowed to practise golf. Then he went away to help a lorry owner. He also remembers and says that he had to pay five rupees to hire a blanket during winter in Connaught place.

Ashok Kumar has the quality of perseverance. He did not lose his courage in such odds of poverty. Now he is ranked No. 3. I the early part of 2010,his career got a boost with the help of Mr. Girish Krishnamurthy. Due to his perseverance and talent, Mr. G.. Krishnamurthy decided to sponsor him.

Ashok Kumar is a man of goal orientation. He says, " I eat, drink and sleep golf." He again says that he has no distraction in his life. He does not like to divert his mind.
