SOLUTION

TO CHECK

The statement are True or False:

If A and B are two matrices of the same order, then

A – B ≠ B – A.

EVALUATION

Here it is given that A and B are two matrices of the same order

Suppose A and B are two matrices both are of order 2 × 2

A= \displaystyle\begin{pmatrix} 1 & 2\\ 3& 4\end{pmatrix}

B = \displaystyle\begin{pmatrix} 5 & 6\\ 7 & 8 \end{pmatrix}

Now

A - B = \displaystyle\begin{pmatrix}  - 4 &  - 4\\  - 4 &  - 4 \end{pmatrix}

B - A  = \displaystyle\begin{pmatrix}  4 &  4\\  4 &   4 \end{pmatrix}

So A – B ≠ B – A.

So the statement is True
