The anal/cloacal fin is located on the ventral surface behind the anus/cloaca. This fin is used to stabilize the fish while swimming. The adipose fin is a soft, fleshy fin found on the back behind thedorsal fin and just forward of the caudal fin.

The caudal fin is also known as the tail fin.

Both birds such as pigeons and fish have the caudal fin.

In both fish and birds it serves almost the same purpose only that the structures are different.

In fish the caudal fin aids in:

1) Helping the fish turn in water.

2) Aids the fish in propulsion

In pigeons the caudal fin helps in the following ways:

1) It helps the pigeon to balance in air.

2) It aids the pigeon to move in air .

3) It helps the pigeon to turn in air.
