Explanation:

When one reads the pathetic answers by Indians to this important question, the ignorance and lack of understanding of our own history that strikes you! It is obvious that true history is NOT taught in schools and colleges. In fact the real answer to this question will make every Indian proud!

First Indians must understand that India was the richest country on earth for more than 5000 years! The famous economist Angus Madison had done a lot of study, provided data for the last 2000 years and concluded this. Economic history of India .

The Saraswathi river valley civilization, erroneously still called as Indus valley civilization, started around 3500 BCE was the starting point of an urban, trade and agricultural center of the world! This place was the world capital of CULTURE, ARTS, TRADE, EDUCATION, SCIENCE AND SPIRITUALITY and the whole world looked up to India for the above. People from all over the world wanted to have trade, cultural, economic and educational ties with India to get the most of the above. Thakshashila the first university of the world established around around 1500 BCE, is an indicator for the highly developed intellect and intelligence of Indians. The Rig Veda the oldest literature, in the world arose in the banks of river Saraswathi, now proved beyond doubt by modern satellite photography and radiocarbon dating. Breaking India forces still do not want to accept this; they cannot! If they did, their entire narrative built about India will collapse!

In 3500 BCE most of the people around the world were hunter gatherers and when they heard about India they wanted to visit her and have trade ties with her, not at all surprising! Around the 1900 BCE the Saraswathy river began to dry up due to Yamuna and Sutlej the main tributaries, changing course due to shifting of tectonic plates! The Saraswathi river civilization declined and the inhabitants moved east and south, carrying with their culture, arts, science, trade, spirituality and education and spread throughout the subcontinent! Diverse but unified by dharma the Bharat the juggernaut moved on to remain the richest country in the world, only challenged occasionally by China who was a close second! Even during Islamic invasions starting 1000 CE, India held on to her economic strength and neck to neck with China!
