For what value of 2x+3y=4and(k+2)x+6y=3k+2 will have infinitly many solution

A1 = 2

A2 = k+2

B1 = 3

B2 = 6

C1 = - 4

C2 = - (3k + 2)

For the pair of equation to have infinite number of solution we must have

A1/A2 = B1/B2 = C1/C2

2/k+2 = 3/6 = -4/- 3k + 2

Now ,

2 / k + 2 = 3 / 6

2 (6) = 3 ( k + 2)

12 = 3k + 6

3k = 6 - 12

3k = -6

k = -2

Again,

3/6 = -4 / -3k + 2

3(-3k + 2 ) = -4 (6)

-9k + 6 = 24

-9k = 6 - 24

-9k = -18

k = -2

Thus , K = -2 the given pair of linear equation has infinitely many solutions .
