Answer:
A1 = 2
A2 = k+2
B1 = 3
B2 = 6
C1 = - 4
C2 = - (3k + 2)
For the pair of equation to have infinite number of solution we must have
A1/A2 = B1/B2 = C1/C2
2/k+2 = 3/6 = -4/- 3k + 2
Now ,
2 / k + 2 = 3 / 6
2 (6) = 3 ( k + 2)
12 = 3k + 6
3k = 6 - 12
3k = -6
k = -2
Again,
3/6 = -4 / -3k + 2
3(-3k + 2 ) = -4 (6)
-9k + 6 = 24
-9k = 6 - 24
-9k = -18
k = -2
Thus , K = -2 the given pair of linear equation has infinitely many solutions .
