4

g(x) = x - 4

→ x - 4 = 0

→ x = 0 + 4

.°. x = 4

_______...

p(x) = x³ + 2x² - 3ax - 8

Putting the value of x

→ (4)³ + 2(4)² - 3 × a × 4 - 8 = 0

→ 64 + 2(16) - 12a - 8 = 0

→ 64 + 32 - 12a - 8 = 0

→ 96 - 12a - 8 = 0

→ 88 - 12a = 0

→ -12a = 0 - 88

→ -12a = -88

(-) cancelled from both sides

→ 12a = 88

→ a = 88 ÷ 12

.°. a = 22/3

So,the value of a is 22/3..
