Infinite solutions means there are infinite values of x and y which satisfies the given equation.
And that is only possible when two equation are identical (same)
so,
in given question "a" must be =4
=>. x+2y=-7
And. 2x+4y=-14
2(x+2y)=-14
x+2y=-7
Procedure how to find value of a by method
(1/2)=(2/a)=7/14
(1/2)=(2/a)=1/2
(1/2)=(2/a)
a=4.
