2x + 3y - 9 = 0 ---( 1 )

6x + ( a - 2 )y - ( 3a - 2 ) = 0---( 2 )

compare above equations with

a1x + b1y + c1 = 0

and a2x + b2y + c2 = 0

we get ,

a1 = 2 , b1 = 3 , c1 = - 9 ;

a2 = 6 , b2 = ( a - 2 ) , c2 = - ( 3a - 2 ) ;

Now ,

a1/a2 = b1/b2

[ Given linear equations has no solution ]

2/6 = 3/( a - 2 )

=> 1/3 = 3/( a - 2 )

=> a - 2 = 3 × 3

=> a - 2 = 9

=> a = 9 + 2

a = 11
