According to the problem given,

2x + cy = 8 ----- ( 1 )

And

x = y ---------- ( 2 )

Put y = x in equation ( 1 ) we get,

2x + cy = 8

Take x common

x ( 2 + c ) = 8

x = 8 / ( 2 + c )

But, denominator should not be zero

2 + c not equals to zero

c is not equals to -2

and c = 0, 2 and 6 satisfies the condition

2x + cy = 8

has equal values of x and y
