Hi ,

According to the problem given,

2x + cy = 8 ------ ( 1 )

And

x = y -------------( 2 )

Put y = x in equation ( 1 ) we get ,

2x + cx = 8

Take x common

x ( 2 + c ) = 8

x = 8 / ( 2 + c )

But denominator should not be zero

2 + c not equals to zero

c is not equals to -2

and c = 0 , 2 and 6 satisfies the condition

2x + cy = 8

has equal values of x and y.

I hope this helps you.

Step-by-step explanation:

2x+cy=8

On inspection, we find 0, 2, 6 satisfies the equation:

On taking the values of x and y as 3, we get c=0.

On taking x and y as 2, we get c=2.

On taking x and y as 0, we get c=6.

Hope this answer helps you.
