In general equation ax+ by=c so let two equations a1x+b1y=c1 and a2x+b2y=c2 so

for no solutions there exists a condition a1/a2=b1/b2 not equal c1/c2

so

k/12=3/k

k^2=36

k=+6,-6 but we can't take both value so we have to verify equations after verify equations we will take -6 u can easily match the value after putting in the equations..
