x =-2

3x^2+4x+2k=0

3×-2^2+4×-2+2k=0

3×4-8+2k=0

12-8+2k=0

4 + 2k =0

2k = -4

k =-2

We know that , a zero of a Polynomial when put in the place of the varible , makes the whole Polynomial equal to zero .

So ,

Put x = -2 in the given Equation and equate it with zero .

 \mapsto \rm \: 3 {( - 2)}^{2}  +  4\times( - 2) + 2k = 0
