(y - 1)

2y - 9y ^3 + y + k = 0
2x 1 - 9x (1)^3 + 1 + k = 0
2 - 9 + 1 + k = 0
7 + 1 + k = 0
8 + k = 0
k = -8

hope this helps ☺☺

let p(y) be 2y^3 - 9 y^2 + y + k
and y-1 = 0
y = 1
and if p(y) is divisible by y-1
then p(1) = 0
2(1)^3 - 9(1)^2 + 1 + k = 0
2-9+1+k = 0
-6 + k = 0
k = 6
