Given equations:

3x - y - 5 = 0,

 a_1 = 3, b_1 = -1, c_1 = -5

6x - 2y - k = 0

 a_1 = 6, b_1 = -2, c_1 = -k

It has no solution, i.e

 \it \frac{a_1}{a_2} = \frac{b_1}{b_2} = \frac{c_1}{c_2}

Therefore,

 \rm \therefore \frac{3}{6} = \frac{-1}{-2} = \frac{-5}{-k}

\rm  \implies \frac{1}{2} = \frac{1}{2} = \frac{5}{k}

So, By cross multiplying,

 \rm \implies 5 \times 2 = 1 \times k

 \rm \implies \bf k = 10

Hence, value of k = 10
