Given polynomial = kx²+x+k
where a = k , b = 1 , c = ,k
For equal roots, discriminant must be equal to 0.
Discriminant = b²-4ac
1²-4×k×k = 0
-4k²=-1
k² = ¼
k= ±½
When k = ± ½ the roots will be equal.
