⇒4x - 3y -9 = 0 (i)
⇒2x + ky - 11 = 0 (ii)
Now Compare with
⇒a₁x + b₁y + c₁ = 0
⇒a₂x + b₂y + c₂ = 0
We get
⇒a₁ = 4 , b₁ = -3 and c₁ = -9
⇒a₂ = 2 , b₂ = k and c₂ = -11
Condition for no solution is
⇒a₁/a₂ = b₁/b₂ ≠ c₁/c₂
Put the value on formula
⇒4/2 = -3/k ≠ -9/-11
⇒2= -3/k
⇒2k = -3
⇒k = -3/2
