EXPLANATION.

  • GIVEN

pair of equation has no solution.

=> 4x - 3y = 9 ....(1) and 2x + ky = 11 ....(2)

TO FIND VALUE OF K.

conditions of the no solution equation.

  \bold{\implies{ \frac{A1}{A2}  =  \frac{B1}{B2}   \ne  \frac{C1}{C2} }}

=> a1 = 4 , b1 = -3 , c1 = -9

=> a2 = 2 , b2 = k, c2 = -11

  \bold{\implies{ \frac{4}{2}  =  \frac{ - 3}{k}   \ne   \frac{ -  9}{ - 11} }}

Case = 1

=> 4/2 = -3/k

=> 4k = -6

=> k = -6/4

=> k = -3/2

Case = 2

 \implies{ \frac{ - 3}{k}  \ne \frac{ - 9}{ - 11} }

 \implies{9k \:   \ne \:  - 33}

  \implies{k \:  \:  \ne \:  \frac{ - 11}{3} }
