Hi !

(5k+1) x + y + 5 = 0

a
₁ = 5k + 1
b₁ = 1
c₁ = 5

x + y + 5 = 0

a
₂ = 1
b₂ = 1
c₂ = 5

for a pair of linear equations to have no solutions ,
a₁/a₂ = b₁/b₂ ≠ c₁/c₂

5k+1 / 1 = 1/1 ≠ 5/5

5k + 1 = 1

5k = 0

k = 0

0 ≠ 5/5

Hence ,

k = 0 is the value of k for the pair of linear equations with no solution
