☆ let p be the roots of the given equation then it's second root be also same I.e p
we know that...sum of roots = -b/a
p + p = -k/2k
2p = -k/ 2k
p =-1/4
and also the product of the root = p^2= c/a
p^2=3/2k
(-1/4)^2=3/2k
1/16=3/2k
2k=48
hence k= 24
