for what value of k will the following equation have infinitly many sollution 2x-3y =7 and (k+1) x+(1-2k) y =5k - 4

Answer:

for the given lines be perfect coincident ( ie.to have infinitely many solutions)the ratios of corfficient of x, corfficient of y and the constant terms should be equal.

here we may take,

=> -3/(1-2k)=7/(5k -4)

=> -3(5k-4)=7(1-2k)

=> -15k +12=7-14k

=> k=5
