Answer:

Here is ur answer...!!!

________________________________________________________________

→ x+2y+7=0

2x+ky+14=0

⇒ a₁ = 1 , b₁ = 2 , c₁ = 7

   a₂ = 2 , b₂= k , c₂ = 14

COINCIDENT LINES OR SOLUTION : a₁/a₂ = b₁/b₂ = c₁/c₂

1/2 = 2/k = 7/14

∴ 1/2 = 2/k

so, k = 4

Answer:

k = -4

Step-by-step explanation:

Given x + 2y + 7 = 0 and 2x – ky + 14 = 0

For when two lines are termed as the coincident lines we can say that the ratio of the co-efficient of the lines are equal.

i.e. ax + by + c = 0 and px + qy + z = 0

then,

a/p = b/q = c/z

So,

from the given equations we may write:

1/2 = 2/(-k) =7/14

=> 1/2 = 2/(-k)

=> k = (-2) × (2)

=> k = -4
