Given :-

2p - 1 , 7 , 3p

are in A.P

As we know they the half of the sum of the a.p. is equal to the middle one

 \frac{2p - 1 + 3p}{2}  = 7

5p - 1 = 14

5p = 14 + 1

5p = 15

p = 3
