Hii !!
First term ( a ) = 2x + 1
Second term ( a2 ) = 13
And,
Third term ( a3 ) = 5x - 3
We know that,
Common difference ( d ) = Second term - first term..
= a2 - a1
=> 13 - ( 2x + 1 )
=> 13 - 2X - 1
=> 12 - 2X
Common difference ( d ) = 12 - 2x
Also,
Common difference ( d ) = Third term - second term.
=> 5x - 2 - 13
=> 5x - 15
Common difference ( d) = 5x - 15
We all know that , the common difference of an AP is always equal.
So,
12 - 2X = 5x - 15
5x + 2x = 15 + 12
7x = 17
X = 17/7.
