step-by-step explanation :

to find the value for which the polynomial becomes zero we will take the polynomial is equal to zero,

x2 - 3x +2 = 0

now we will split the middle term

x2 - 2x - x +2 =0

x ( x - 2) - 1 (x - 2)=0

take (x - 2) as common on your left side

( x - 2) (x - 1)= 0

therefore x= 2

x=1

for the second part of the question we will use the same method

x2 - 6x + 5 = 0

x2 - 5x - x + 5 = 0

x (x - 5) - 1(x - 5) = 0

( x- 5) (x - 1)

therefore x =5

x=1

therefore fore the value of x = 1, both the polynomials become zero

hope it was helpful
