Given :  sin x >cos x

To Find : For what values of x between 0 and 360 degree is sin x >cos x

Solution:

Sinx  and cosx  are + Ve  in 0 to 90°

sinx  > cox

iff tanx >  1

=> x >  45°

sinx is -ve  and cosx  is +ve   from 90 to 180°    Hence

Sinx  > Cosx

Hence  90° to  180°

sinx and cosx both are -ve from 180°  to 270°

=> sinx  > cosx

if  | sin x | < | cos x |

=> tanx  <  1

x < 225°

from 270°  to 360°   sinx is -ve and cosx is +ve

Hence   sinx < cosx

so combining all

sinx > cosx

iff     45° <  x  < 225°

45° <  x  < 225°  values of x between 0 and 360 degree is sin x>cos x
