Busmillah Khan was fond of music since from his childhood. As a 5 years old child he used to visit the Biharji temple at Dumraon to sing bhojpuri "Chaita" . He used to sing so well that he was awarded with a big laddu weighing 1.25 kg by the local Maharaja.
