That means when we talk r.i of glass is 1.5 that is for which colour/wavelength of light ?

Answer:

therefore the refractive index of glass must be maximum for violet color. The Dm -deviation for violet color is largest therefore mu will be maximum for violet color. so mu , the refractive index will be maximum for violet as its wavelength is much smaller than red.

the refractive index will be maximum for violet as its wavelength is much smaller than red. The refractive index of different glass have different values, Fused Silica (Fused Quartz) - 1.458, Normal Glass - 1.50, Acrylic Glass - 1.490–1.492, Crown glass - 1.50–1.54, Flint Glass - 1.60–1.62 etc.
