For which the value of m, x+3 is the factor of the polynomial x3 -2m2 +21?

Answer:

Put x + 3 = 0

x = -3

= x³ - 2mx + 21

= (-3)³ - 2m(-3) + 21

= -27 - (-6m) + 21

= -27 + 6m + 21

= -6 + 6m = 0

= 6m = 6

= m = 6/6

= m = 1

So, m is equal to 1.

For which the value of m, x+3 is the factor of the polynomial x³-2mx+21?

2 + 3 is a factor

so 5.

f(5) = 0

f(x) = x³-2mx+21

=> f(5) = (5)³ - 2m(5) + 21

=> f(5) = 125 + 10m + 21

=> f(5) = 10m - 146

10m - 146 = 0

=> 10m = 146,

m=146/10,

m=14.6.

for value of m= 14.6, 2+3 is the factor of the polynomial x³-2mx+21.
