For which value of P, the equation px -y = 2 and 6x -2y = 3 will have only one solution?​

Answer:

6x - 2y = 3 ......(i)

px - y = 2 ( x2 ) ......(ii)

6x - 2y = 3

2px - 2y = 2

6x - 2px = 1

=> 2x( 3 - p) = 1

=> 3 - p = 1/2x

=> - p = 1/2x - 3

=> p = 3 - 1/2x

Now if u put this value of p in equation (ii),

we get another equation as:

6x - y = 5 ......(iii)

Now u can equate both the equations ( i & iii) simultaneously.
