step by step explanation:

if two lines

a1x +b1 y +C1 = 0

and

a2x+ b2y + C2 = 0

then ,

condition for two lines are parallel

 \frac{a1}{a2}  =  \frac{b1}{b2}    not \: equal \: to \:   \frac{c1}{c2}

given equations of line

3x-y -5= 0

and

6x-2y-p = 0

condition for these lines are parallel

1/2 not equal to 5/p

then

p not equal to 10
