The given system may be written as

kx+2y−5=0

3x+y−1=0

The given system of equation is of the form

a1x+b1y−c1=0

a2x+b2y−c2=0

Where, a1=k,b1=2,c1=−5

a2=3,b2=1,c2=−1

For unique solution,we have

a1a2≠b1b2

k3≠21

⇒k≠6

Therefore, the given system will have unique solution for all real values of k other than 6.
