It is mandatory to write IELTS exam , if one is applying for PR of any foreign country specially Canada or Australia. But one needs to go for GENERAL IELTS exam . As one cannot replace this requirement with his IELTS Academic score.Academic IELTS is eligible only if the candidate wants to apply for student visa.
