2x/ 9a + 2y /b = 14 /9

3x /a + 10y/ 3b = (− 8/ 3)

2x/ 9a + 2y /b = 14 /9

=> (2bx + 18ay)/9ab = 14/9

=> 2bx + 18ay = 14ab

=> bx + 9ay = 7ab

=> bx = 7ab - 9ay

=> x = (7ab - 9ay)/b.........(i)

3x /a + 10y/ 3b = (− 8/ 3)

=> (9bx + 10ay)/3ab = (-8/3)

=> 9bx + 10ay = (-8ab)

=> 9b(7ab - 9ay)/b + 10ay = (-8ab)

=> 63ab - 81ay + 10ay = (-8ab)

=> 71ab = 71ay

=> y = b

Thus, x = (7ab - 9ay)/b

=> x = (7ab - 9ab)/b

=> x = (-2ab)/b

=> x = (-2a)

Hence the value of x is (-2a) and of y is b
