The action from a force can cause anobject to move or speed up (accelerate), to slow down (decelerate), to stop, or to changedirection. Since any change in velocityis considered acceleration, it can be said that a force on an object results in the acceleration of anobject.

Answer:

When a force is applied on a object , it may change , its speed. If the force is applied in the direction opposite to the motion, then it results in a decrease in the speed off the Object.

Hope these helps you.
