In late 17th century, Newton discovered that every object attracts every other object with a certain force. This force, he found is directly proportional to the product of the 2 masses and inverselyproportional to the square of the distance between them. This can be written as follows-and this force, he termed asgravitational force. Here G is the gravitational constant. This force exists between atoms, light particles, planets and any two objects

A force is a physical quantity which causes of tends to cause a motion in an object at rest or changes the direction of motion or tends to change the shape and size of an object or tends to change the speed of an object.
Types of force :
a. Balanced force
b. Unbalance force.
Newton also had given three laws regarding force and Motion.
These are called Newton's law of motion.
Law 1.
Everybody continues in its state of rest for uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled by some external force to change that state.
Law 2.
Change in momentum of a body per unit time is directly proportional to the unbalanced force on the body.
Law 3.
To every action there is equal and opposite reaction.
