Force is a vector quantity as it has both direction and magnitude
For ex : on a mass of 1kg, an acceleration of 2m/s^2 is applied then F =ma= 2×1 = 2N
Take another case when a mass of 1 kg is undergoing acc of -2 m/s^2 , in that case Force will be -2×1 = -2N...... which means force is applied on opp side of motion
